According to the peshawar and hazara university research report shiv temple is approximately 2000 years old when Budh religion is in this world. Size of shiv linga is 8 ft due to which this is the 3rd largest temple in the world due to shiv linga size. Beleivers of Hindu religion bleif that this is  male shive linga and its female is on the mountain named “Bararee”.

Every year hindu’s celebrate their religious functions in the temple. One of them is “SHIVRATRI” it is celebrated in Feburary and August because it is the marriage day of shiv link. Marriage cermonies are also perform in this temple because they consider this marriage cermoney religiously a good thing. All over the world including pakistan hindu’s come in their religious cermoney. Other cermonies like SAVAN POOJA , DEWALI is also celebrated in those days. In temple there is also a statue of  Ganesh  jee and Nani bhahgat.The temple and Lingam still attract many Hindu pilgrims and tourists each year,especially at the time of the annual Maha Shivratri festival.

Another unsual and significant feature of this temple is DURGA cave. Where yatri's come to bath and purify themselves and after that they practices their religious cermonies.

The structured of temple is nw improved.15 or 20 years back there is no proper structure of temple even  there is no proper surrounding walls of temple.When Shiv Temple goes under the  Ministry Of Relegious Affair they give proper structure of temple. Nazim of chitti ghatti also take care of temple and tried to fill all the needs of temple.
